TCP port check
What the TCP port check does
Tries to open a TCP connection to the host and port you give and reports whether it connected and how long the handshake took.
- Use it after changing a firewall, starting a service (SSH, mail, database, web) or moving servers, to confirm the port is really reachable from outside.
- A closed result can also mean a firewall drops the traffic. Ports open only to selected addresses will look closed from our nodes.
